CBC
Coronavirus Response
March 13,
2020
Like you, I have been concerned about
the coronavirus and have been keeping abreast of the latest developments. While
not succumbing to panic, we do want to be wise in our work and focused on our
God who is in control. Philippians 4:6
encourages us to “not be
anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” And the promise declared in Psalm 34:4 is timely, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” With
new daily disruptions and the spread of the virus, it is certainly a reminder
to be diligent, to pray and to be an encouragement to one another.
As your church staff, we are taking
precautions to do our part in keeping everyone healthy and safe. From the CDC,
here are a few simple things that you can do to protect yourself and if you are
sick, to keep from spreading illness to others.
How Can I Protect Myself?
· *Avoid close contact with people who
are sick.
· *Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and
mouth with unwashed hands.
· *Wash your hands often with soap and
water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that
contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
If You Are Sick, to Keep from Spreading Illness to Others
· *Stay home when you are sick.
· *Cover your cough or sneeze with a
tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
· *Clean and disinfect frequently
touched objects and surfaces.
What We Are Doing at CBC
· *When we gather for worship and other
activities, we are encouraging non-physical ways of greeting one another.
· *In place of passing an offering
plate, worshipers are encouraged to bring their offering to a designated place
in the worship center or use our online giving option through our carrollwoodbaptist.org
website.
· *Our staff members have been
instructed to stay home if they are sick.
· *Extra attention will be given to
sanitizing frequently touched and used areas.
· *For persons who are either sick or
who feel that it would be best at this time to remain home, we are working on
live streaming on Facebook our 10:30 a.m. worship service each Sunday.
